Dear family and friends,
I feel like this is the happiest I’ve been in weeks! Today is a beautiful day in Lebanon, TN, and I have the two best companions ever, and we have the best members here, and the best investigators, and there’s a Dollar General on like every block. Does it get better than this? I don’t think so! The Lord is so mindful of us, and rewards us far more than we deserve.
With transfers last Tuesday, we received a new companion, Hermana Idso! It’s been so wonderful, and I feel like a new light and motivation has come into the work here. She’s so sweet and genuine; she just wants to work hard! We have so much fun.
Things are progressing really well with our investigators. Jaclyn attended English classes and responded really well to a tentative baptismal date last night! She’s awesome, and just gets it. She knows she feels peace and happiness when we’re there, and when she learns more about the Restored Gospel.
Rosa and Rodrigo (cousins) seem to soak in everything we teach, whether or not they express it. Rodrigo can practically recite the first lesson to us. We’re working harder than ever as a companionship to prepare for our lessons with them.
Blanca and her family are sweet. Hugo last Saturday learned how to pray and showed interest in attending church! And Lidia is as adorable as ever.
McKayla, the 11 year old girl we’ve been teaching, has decided to get baptized on June 16th! We’re so excited, and her grandpa is excited to baptize her. We love their family so much, and I feel so grateful to be teaching McKayla and her stepdad Adam.
We met with Jan, a recent convert. She lost her husband last month, but has such a strong testimony. She finds little notes from him all over his office, that he must have written really soon right before his death. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is. Shout out to the future husband, write me little notes before you die…Or just write me little love notes while you’re alive, okay?
TN is wonderful!
How’s Vacaville/everywhere else that everyone lives? It’s so fun to hear from you, and to see how everything’s going. Be faithful, and don’t ever be ashamed of doing what’s right, or sharing the gospel. The gospel is amazing. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the only true church, and that it was established by Christ, through the prophet Joseph Smith. I know that the power of God, the priesthood, was restored through the prophet Joseph Smith. And I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God lives and loves us. I invite anyone who doesn’t know these things for themselves, to pray and ask God if they are! And I ask anyone who is curious, to learn more and attend a service on Sunday, and to meet with the missionaries.
Well, y’all are great (I’m fixin’ to come home with a Southern accent, and hopefully decently fluent in Spanish). I’m so grateful for your prayers and letters.
Love love love,
Hermana Rachel Faye Knecht
